The Slopes Houses investigate architecture as a direct response to terrain, allowing the landscape to shape the organization, structure, and experience of dwelling. Rather than imposing a flattened building upon a steep site, the homes are carefully embedded within the hillside, minimizing disturbance while amplifying views, daylight, and connections to the surrounding ecology.

The project explores how architecture can become an extension of the ground itself, using retaining structures, terraces, native planting, and natural materials to blur the boundary between building and landscape. Each intervention is guided by the existing geology and hydrology of the site, reflecting Building Ground Architecture's philosophy that meaningful architecture grows from careful observation before formal expression.
